Mines can be mined (harvested) for Crystals. As a by-product you get Sex Toys, Chests and excluding the top tier, Water items.
You obtain mines by merging Dowsing Rods.

The T9 Mine does not drop water. That makes it interesting to be auto-harvested, because all products of this mine are non-harvestable.
There is a production cycle: Crystal Mines > Water > Flower Beds > Ents > Crystal Mines. Event maps might be different (without telling you. Usually the mines do not drop Water items). But otherwise, if you have one, you can make all other.
Since you always start with dowsing rods for mines it does not matter much, how far you are with other lines, thus it is a good starting point for Beginners, as you can buy better buildings with crystals.
Contrary to the max Ruins, the harvesting time of Crystal mines is fast enough, that you can get away with only having two T9, if you want to farm Crystal.
